Clearing my Conscience

Regardless of Carol’s claims at the AGM about “limited liability”, members of a committee of a not-for-profit association are legally responsible as individuals for ILLEGAL decisions. The limited liability notion applies to debts of the association. This would happen at the stage of bankruptcy, which is the goal Carol is trying to achieve.

Members of ASPA(Vic) committee can avoid this legal responsibility by resigning from the committee. They can still perform their current duties as members of the association, until a reasonable outcome is reached.

So far, only a couple of members of the committee could see through the obfuscation, namely the former secretary and two former treasurers.
