In an effort to internationalise the game, a group of nutcases periodically revise the allowed vocabulary. Scrabble vocabulary developed into a bizarre jargon claimed to cover words from other languages. If you only play with friends, use any dictionary without the word "Scrabble" on its cover. This blog is primarily concerned with competitive Scrabble and the incompetence of some of its custodians..

FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE AGM OF ASPA(VIC) ON 22/11/2015

For those who could not figure out why ASPA (Vic) paid $1567 in legal fees as per their financial statement of 2015:

(1) In 2008 a committee of ASPA (Vic) took a wrong disciplinary decision against Mohammed Hegazi. Members of that committee included, among others, Carol Johnsen, Marj Miller, Norma Fisher and Trevor Halsall.

(2) In 2011 an internal review by Carol Johnsen and Norma Fisher not only refused to annul the wrong disciplinary decision of 2008, but also denied other uninvolved members of the committee the chance of participation in the review process.

(3) In 2012 an ASPA (Vic) delegation comprised of Carol Johnsen, Marj miller and Trevor halsall vs Mohammed Hegazi and Harry Malcolm attended a meeting at the Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria, Department of Justice. The delegation refused to annul the wrong disciplinary decision of 2008. The basic argument raised by Trevor Halsall at the meeting was that Mohammed Hegazi had cheated at scrabble tournaments. Such argument was later proven false. Its sole perpetrator (KR) was proven a liar by the tournament director (Geoff Wright).

(4) In 2015 a magistrate issued an order nullifying the disciplinary decision of 2008, based on an agreement by ASPA(Vic) that such decision was wrong.

(5) Had the dispute been settled the same way at the Dispute Settlement Centre in 2012, the cost to all parties would have been $00,000.00

(6) The incompetent parties are still seeking positions on a new Committee. I wish ASPA (Vic) a merry Christmas and a happy 2016 new year.

Scrabble Vic remains riddled with bully behaviour.

Its remaining members are for the most part led by the nose and do not know how to audit for bullying.

They fall for the superficial charm, and do not have an eye for the backyard of victims these bullies have.

The remaining members are patsies for the bullies

They still have not worked out that Mohammed was COMPLETELY CLEARED

a) of all ALLEGATIONS made against him, including Trevor's fabricated CHEAT CLAIMS

b) of all FINDINGS made by the bullies on their own charges

c) and of all PUNISHMENTS dished out by these psychological thugs.

The bullies showed the standard expected reaction
ie no decency, dug their heels in, got nastier,
and only went through the motions of conciliation,
too scared to admit their ways.

They put an utterly innocent man to 5 years of hell

But still in his decency he offered to pay his own expenses
as why should innocent members pay for the incompetence of the bullies.

But in their self indulgence, while presiding over the demise of scrabble Vic

they now want to use the annual subs of 75 members to pay their legal bill !!

And yet the sheep left in scrabble still vote for them, and their cowardly continued abuse of position.

The bullies are sickly sweet in presentation but get behind that..

We have Mal Eden "Mr Peacemaker' telling me he still thinks Mohammed is a "snivelling little shit" !!!

Look at last years AGM, Norma Fisher so incompetent as chair she didn even know we had to vote !!

You had Sandra Masel shrieking all manner of slander into the meeting.

You had hecklers given free rein to heckle.

Luckily its all on video, and ready to be actioned.

No one ever got to the bottom of the "standby player" drain on the Association.

Bullying happens where there is incompetence.

A dozen people I expected better of showed they put self preservation ahead of honesty and ethics.

Mohammed and I will always remain good people,

they remain as they behaved.

Not once WAS apology was forthcoming..

They even hid the Magistrates ordered retraction in the Vic section of ATB

when Trevor slandered Mohammed to the world.

In time, all the bad apples will be gone from Vic ASPA scrabble.

Until then, my kids will never be playing in their association..

Look how few youngsters play there anyhow, and the masters only to qualify for events.

One sick association.

Congrats to Mohammed for standing up to the bullying.

Dear Harry,
Your passionate comments sound like barking from a distance. People will not take you seriously unless you offer constructive action. For example, you may move that proxy votes be disallowed. Some nonprofit organisations either disallow the use of proxies or limit their use to the case of the absence of a quorum at the meeting. Also, you could move that the real culprits pay for the associations legal cost. Risking legal action was never meant to protect the Association. On the contrary, it generated much negative publicity. The membership were never consulted about legal action. Such motions would make sense, even to some chronic nuts.

Well Mo, they are so manipulative that I didn't receive the notice of the AGM or any documents related to what was happening or up for discussion. The practice of ignoring and isolating people is standard bully fare, the misconduct in this Association could be used to illustrate any professional text on bullying ways. Their attempt 2014 to desperately and improperly avoid scrutiny and audit by reducing to 9 on the committee came unstuck when their slanderous buddy Masel was the one who lost a place... karma. Most of the 18 or so proxy votes amazingly had the same unusual wording in making their vote, clearly a ring around was done, just as Marj Miller did a ring around years ago to vilify you (including to me) before her "poor me" claim to a captive tournament without naming you, but everyone knew who within an hour from her ring arounds.

Mo I published a very very positive plan for rejuvenating scrabble to all members before the AGM last year. However it was pearl before swine, clearly a new association has to be started.

Harry,
I have already flirted with the idea of a new association. In the final analysis, I found myself to be too old to persevere. Besides, Scrabble is not my main focus in the relatively short remainder of my life. I have other time consuming pursuits that are much more important to me than scrabble. As to ASPA (Vic), I would rather let the membership wallow in their own inability to come forward with any decent younger challengers to the perpetual incumbents of the two main positions of President and that of her Vice. Younger players are running away. Where are Anand Bharadwaj, David Eldar, Jason Stockdale, Julian Mickail, Jayden Kuhne or Michael Robinstein, to mention but a few future leaders. So, why bother anymore about the future of this miserable organisation?
